3/23/22 • Love God, Love People • Week 2
Series Overview: The church exists to make disciples of Jesus who love God with all that they are and love people the same way God loves us. In this series, we will discover that when we LOVE God with all we are we will LOVE others as well.
Series Passage: “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Challenge: Jesus lived out this commandment by continuously meeting the needs of others while he was here on the earth and he demonstrated the greatest act of love by giving his own life as payment for the entire world’s sin on a cross (John 15:12-13).
Next Steps:
- Salvation: Begin a relationship with God through Christ
- Prayer & Bible Reading: LOVE God through communication and one on one time.
- Fellowship with other Christians: Iron sharpens Iron.
Key Verses: “A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:39-40
- Do you think that if you are fulfilling the greatest commandment (loving God with all you are) that it is easier to love your neighbor? Why or why not?
- Why should we love each other in a selfless way?
- What does John 3:16 say was the motivating factor behind God sending Jesus to die for our sins? “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
- Romans 13:8-10 gives us a clear picture of love fulfilling the law when it comes to our relationship with people. What does it say about loving others?
- Read 1 John 3:10. What does this scripture say? How do we apply this to our life?
