11/3/21 • The Death & Life of Lazarus • Week 1

In this two-week series, we are looking at the death and life of Lazarus (not "life and death," because that's mixing up the order!) This series looks at the death that comes into our lives and when situations don't go the way we expect. Then, it looks at the amazing power of God who is able to resurrect any dead situation and breathe life into any circumstance.

Scripture: John 11: 1-21

Discussion Questions:
  1. Is there someone in your life who usually keeps you waiting? (For example, they are late, they don’t show up when they say they will, etc.)
    - How do you feel when someone keeps you waiting?
  2. Do you ever feel like God has kept you waiting?
    - If so, are you comfortable enough to share about it with the group?
  3. What do you think could be some reasons for why God may keep us waiting?
  4. What do you think it means that Jesus waited to heal Lazarus because of His love for them?
  5. Read Romans 5:3-5.
    - Work together to put this passage into your own words. Write it down.
    - What does this passage mean for your own life?
  6. Read 1 Peter 5:6-11.
    - Work together to put this passage into your own words. Write it down.

  7. Is anyone going through any, “Lord, if You had been here...” moments?
  8. Spend time praying for each other.
    - Pray for the hard times of life that we all go through.
    - Pray for those who are currently facing a “Lord, if only You had been here...” moment (even if they didn’t share the details).
