This Wednesday - You Asked For It - The teens have voted and spoken. These are the topics they would like us to discuss at RockLife. This weeks lesson is all about Faith and Science. We are told that Faith and Science can't coexist, but can they?

Scripture: Genesis 1:1
Main Point: Faith and Science can coexist, Faith and philosophical naturalism can’t

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
  • Why do you think for a lot of people science and faith feel like opposites? 
  • Do you ever feel like you have to choose between faith and science? If so, what are some examples?
  • How would you feel if some of your biggest questions were never answered?
  • Has there ever been a time you felt like science affirmed your faith? 
  • Read Genesis 1:1. What questions come to mind when you hear this verse?
  • If you know that science and faith can exist in the same space, how could that change the way you . . . 
    1. Approach the Bible?
    2. Approach a science textbook or science class?
  • Why is Jesus’ view of Genesis so important? 
  • What are some ways you see bias in faith or Christianity?
  • What are some ways you see bias in science or in your classroom?
  • What is something you learned in today’s lesson or hadn’t thought about before?
  • If Science is about “How” and faith is about “who” will you trust Jesus before having “all” the “how” answers?
